Rene – our 7 year old bitch
doing what she likes best
We have two rescued greyhounds. These are our third and fourth greyhounds that have been retired from racing and found a home with us to spend their twilight years. My wife, who is a natural dog owner and an ex-vetinary nurse, spends a lot of her free time on internet forums dealing with people around the world and their greyhound related problems. Probably the biggest of these forums is a US run board called GreyTalk which boasts a large number of users and posters.
Now here’s the bit. She told me recently that if she tries to use the word bitch her post is rejected. Americans, apparently, wont allow the word bitch. They prefer the word girl. OK – let me explain for our American friends in proper English.
bitch: noun
A female dog, wolf, fox or otter.girl:noun
A female child.
See the difference? Easy isn’t it?
