Witanagemot

Outside the British Isles, England is often erroneously considered synonymous with the island of Great Britain (England, Scotland, and Wales) and even with the entire United Kingdom. Despite the political, economic, and cultural legacy that has secured the perpetuation of its name, England no longer officially exists as a governmental or political unit unlike Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, which all have varying degrees of self-government in domestic affairs.
The Witanagemot club is a loose collection of bloggers that believe that the current constitutional settlement is disadvantageous to England and support the creation of an English Parliament.

Yellow Swordfish does not necessarily endorse or agree with all of the views of other Witanagemot members.

Conversations With A Wife #2
Posted on July 18, 2008 in The Other Half by Andy @ Yellow Swordfish

On my recent trip to the USA I bought a few t-shirts. I like t-shirts but I particularly like American t-shirts as they are generally made without seams at the sides and do not twist after a few washes. Actually the fabric always seems better as well. The picture is NOT one of my t-shirts by the way - just a random image I came across.

So, this morning I put one of these shirts on that happens to have a rather large Las Vegas motif printed on the back. It is a similar colour to the one in the photo. I was worried that it looked stupid.

“Do I look stupid in this t-shirt” I ask my wife just before we take the dogs out for their morning constitutional. She looks me over thoughtfully..

“What are you?” She asks, “56? 57?”

“What’s that got to do with it?” I say.

There is a slight pause…

“Beige” she says.

It’s amazing just how much scorn she got into that word.

    @DrowseyMonkey: Me..me. You believe me! We were not too far out. Remember that several hours had gone by before we both wrote it up. The old little grey cells probably don’t work as reliably as they used to….

    @Truden: I am a big fan of blue :)
