All right, I guess I’ll live. After all, I grew up in California with place names like Vallejo and La Jolla. Non-natives pronounce them “valley-joe” and “la jol-la” instead of “val-ay-ho” and “la hoy-a.”

Of course I won’t even try Edinburgh…LOL

@Jansy: Why? – everyone in America I have ever met pronounces it that way at first. They don’t say ‘Peterborough’ either but ‘Peterborrow’.

@Jansy: Yes we will be visiting the Bryce area. I went alone last year and she missed it! We will give you a wave as requested. By the same token, if you ever visit LYE-CES-TER again give us a shout. We are only about 45 minutes away.

Andy, I clicked on your Dear Wife’s blog. (You go, girl!!! *ahem* Sorry) And noticed that you will be in Utah in June. How wonderful! (Although I take it from her comments you’ll only be in Southern Utah, so I doubt you’ll make it to my neck of the woods. But do us a favour then? Give us a wave when you’re down there??)
