Finding St. George #4
Posted on March 22, 2008 in Life in England by Andy @ Yellow Swordfish4 Comments »

This rather took me by surprise although I am sure my fellow Witanagemot members will have noted it before. There has been much grumbling and gnashing of teeth over the last couple of years about the way that the likes or Tesco And Sainsbury’s will slap Scottish and Welsh flags all over their products to show their source – but when it comes to anything from England we have to put up with the bloody Union Jack. Tesco in particular seem to think it’s a crime to stamp their food as having originated in England.

So good old ASDA then. Well – it’s not really ASDA any more is it? And I’m not sure if I really want to write ‘Good old Wal-Mart’ – there seems to be something contradictory about that sentence. Anyway – I remember when it used to be Associated Dairies!

Either way – good on them for flying the flag. Perhaps I’ll go in there again one day.

I avoid Asda but for once I’ll visit  as they deserve support for breaking ranks.

You understate the significance of the ‘event’ – please note the cheese is "White, English Cheddar" OMG it’s racist – ban it !!!!
