Well, if you take a closer look, nothing has really changed for women in Afghanistan, where the US “freed” women and women’s rights in Iraq have actually slipped backward since the US invaded. As Mark Twain said, “Thunder is impressive but Lightning gets the work done.”

Well, if the Shrub and cronies get their way it won’t just be the women of South Dalota and Tennessee… Storming Washington is a lovely image but I think they ought to head straight for the Supreme Court.

I was going to say that “the thing that I find bizarre about this kind of character is…”, but really just one of the many things that I find bizarre about this kind of character is the way that the same people are perfectly ready to jump up and denounce Islam for subjugation/second-class treatment of women. Although I’m obviously just missing the part where it’s perfectly OK if it’s done in the name of the right God…

…all the same, I eagerly await the day when the women of South Dakota and Tennessee storm and capture the US Treasury building, then successfully repel a counter-attack led by Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld. That’s why they have their much-vaunted right to bear arms, right? So they can overthrow their corrupt government?

…I imagine it can’t be particularly easy fighting on the same side as Cheney, you never know when he’s going to turn around and shoot you in the face for no good reason.
