Having shunned the Kyoto treaty and laughed the rest of the world in the face it is good to see that the USA is starting to come under pressure at the Montreal talks.
However, the BBC News Website RSS feed this morning summed it up in one simple and telling sentence:
The US says an agreement is near over talks to take forward efforts to combat global warming.
And that seems to me to be a diplomatic way of giving the planet the finger whilst appearing to behave.
